I am very sore from yesterday's barre class and I am so happy! How sad is that? Happy- sad - happy- yes hormones are haywire. Boy, do those 3 lb weights get heavy fast. It felt like I was lifting 15 lbs!
So it is time for me to find new sneakers. I have been wearing a pair of Reebok realflex transition for a few months now and I like them, but....I think I need more cushioning. As someone with flat feet, no arches and had bunion surgery, this trend toward minimalist shoes is killing me. Any advice? I want lots of cushioning! lots! Plus I have to get my orthotics in them and that is a challenge. Have I said lots of cushioning? I am going to hit some of the stores this weekend.
Today I'm off to yoga and I hope my arms aren't too tired to hold a downward dog! By the way, I think I told you (or y'all, as my son would now say) that I broke down and purchased The Mat from Lululemon. I love it! Yes, it stinks and even after airing it out for a long time, sometimes when I unroll it in class it still smells for a moment or too, but I don't slip at all. AT ALL. And there is a little bit of cushioning for my sometimes sore wrists. That is a huge pro in my book. It does get dirty, though. I got the black and have yet to clean it. Any thoughts on what to use? The "educator" at the store told me she takes her mat in the shower with her. Uh, really?
I am wearing my black LUON (love) power y and I know these are still available online. I wish they came in more colors and patterns. I am still on the fence about the luon light one I have sitting in my room. This thick luon is so flattering and compressive. And of course, my groove crops. The last three pictures are of the heart opener tank on top of the power y. As you can see, the straps just don't lay right on me. I don't know if they need to be wider or I should have sized down, but I think this will go on ebay soon. It is hard to tell from the photo, but it is the grey one.
All about what's for dinner, running, reading, teenagers, Lululemon, lipstick, and anything else that is keeping me up at night!

Today's plan: barre and yardwork
It can't be put off much longer and today is supposed to get into the 70s, so I need to cut down the peonies, pull out the annuals, and before the ground freezes, put in the reflectors along the driveway for the snowplow. There's enough to do that it will actually be a workout. Not like tabata, although nothing is like tabata. I had to get up very early to take our exchange student to school, so today might be too tired to do anything.
Since Barre is a no impact class, I'm wearing an old, old, old, Lululemon scoop neck tank. This has held up so well, I don't know why I don't wear it more often. It is the thick Luon of old and it is lined. Perfect!! And my mod moves crop. Still waiting for new wunder unders crops. Or even groove crops. Those I would buy in a flash.
Yesterdays yoga was very fun and I think I've reached the point in my life when savasana is actually something to look forward to. I used to lie there and think of all the things that I would need to do...food store, carpool, what's for dinner, bills... Now I think, "Oh no, is it over so soon?" I have even noticed that the flexibility in my hips is slowly getting better. When I first started taking classes in the late summer, I couldn't even cross my legs (like when you sit at a table). Now I can do that! Although I have a ways to go and it is nice to have something to work toward and see progress.
Gotta go burn those arms out! Want to come help me clean up the yard? Please?

What I wanted to wear to power yoga
I have only a few days left before that restrictive two week return period is up and I just don't know if I should keep this the Lululemon power Y tank. I thought the dark pattern would be dark enough, but looking at these pictures, all I can see are bulges. Except, it is really the perfect tank to wear to hot yoga, since I don't have to later struggle out of a sweaty bra and it holds the girls in place. I feel very naked in it, though, and I'm not sure why. And self-conscious. Such a dilemma.
I am wearing my wunder unders and no I do not have a thigh gap by any means! But I can strike a pose, can't I?? I thought about those paisley wunder unders and saw a picture of them and think the pattern is just too busy for me. I would love that pattern on a waistband, though.
So, this is what I ended up wearing instead. My Lululemon energy bra and CRB. The bulges are still there but the pattern helps camouflage it/ them a little better. I hope. I think there are a lot of pictures of me in this tank for that very reason.
An invitation to gilt.com
I think I have posted this before, but lately the deals have been too good to keep to myself. Remember when I wrote up about the Laura Mercier face polish last week? Guess what is on gilt.com for an amazing price. Know what my daughter uses to keep her curls in check? Ouidad. Yup, it is on gilt city this week. Of course the clothes and jewelry are fantastic, but I find myself buying a lot of beauty products for super prices. I'm also in the market for a new coffee machine because I think my Keurig might be on its last legs. I'm holding out for Nespresso. Has anyone used it? Do you love it? Does anyone even make drip coffee anymore? Anyway, here is the link. By the way, if you use it, I think we both get $25. Can't beat that right?

Lululemon clothes are way too expensive (that doesn't mean I don't buy them) so I am always looking for a way to save a few pennies. Happy shopping!

Can I have another rest day, please?
Oh am I dragging today. But I did drag myself to the gym and I feel a little better! We did a lot of TRX exercises today and I love them for my glutes and legs. I am sure I will feel it tomorrow! I wore the ruffled up CRB, faded zap energy bra and groove crops.
I think I will be able to get to a Lululemon store this weekend, so I am holding off buying anything online. But, these are my thoughts! Luckily, I don't need any pants or cold weather running clothes, so that eliminates a whole category that might be tempting for me.
The harmonious sweatpants looked like a slam dunk to me and then I saw that they were wool, so I can forget about that. I think it will be too warm for me. Same goes for the Harmonious Hoodie. Plus, the price is way too high.
The raindrop jacket looks like it might be okay, but I did just buy the Right as Rain long jacket. I wouldn't wear this running (since I'm not running), and since it looks short, I'm not sure how much usage I would get out of it. Is my butt covered or is it going to get wet? Also not sure about the flaps on the back. Unless it knocks my socks off in person, I will pass.
I love the 105 singlet, but am holding off buying it since the blue one I had fit so differently from the grey one. If I could only try it on, but my store hasn't stocked any of these tanks and didn't even know anything about it. I would buy it in a second if it fit right and laid right, and it is too hard to tell from these photos. Has anyone seen one in person yet?
Avenue pullover in black looks okay, but the price is too expensive. Although, I think it is probably something I could live in all winter. I have to see it in the store.
Paisley wunder unders. I have been waiting for another pair of these crops, but I'm not sure if I can get away with this pattern. I loved the pattern in the Power Y tank, so it might be okay, or it might be too busy. So overall, I am waiting for a trip to the store.

Today might be my rest day
Or, another words, my lazy day! It has been a very busy three day weekend with late nights and early mornings. I did manage to sleep in until 8 this morning, which for me is great, but I don't feel well rested by any means. Right now my body is tired and achy and I am not motivated at all. If the sun comes out and I start to wake up, I might go for a run, but we will see! I'm not sure whether to hold out for a good upload from Lululemon tonight (too much money being spent and then returned) or a bad one (keep that wallet closed).
I got a free sample of Laura Mercier face polish and really liked it.
It was very abrasive, but in a soft way, and my skin was extremely smooth after using it. I already use an exfoliater, Kate Somerville's Exfolikate, which I love, and I try to remember to use it once a week. I also keep a giant Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash in the shower. I bought one of those giant, giant bottles a few years ago from QVC and I hope to finish it in this lifetime. It is very gentle and is more like a face wash for me.
I will definitely keep The Face Polish in mind for when my stash runs out. But, what I use to wash my face and take off most eye makeup is Bobbi Brown Soothing Oil Face Wash.
If you haven't used an oil before you must try it! Seriously! I have oily skin and contrary to what you may think, it doesn't make your skin any oiler. It is amazing and I am on my third bottle, which for me is an absolute record. But, it does just cleanse, so you still need to exfoliate and "treat." Plus, it smells good. Have a great Columbus Day!

Lululemon Run First Base Tank
I sometimes love this tank and sometimes really hate it. I think I love it until I see it on me. The rulu is super soft, but I find it is kindof clingy, so I see where my groove crops end, and I can sortof make out the band of patterned fabric around the waist. I really like the way the black hyper stripe looks online and am so tempted to order it. I like the generous coverage in the back and butt and it isn't as tight as the CRB. I am also loving the commuter denim scuba. I know I said no more scubas. Help! Anyway, here are some photos. That side picture is really killing me lately. I'm off to group kick and I'm running late! I have to go eat my oatmeal with chocolate peanut butter and fix my hair. Haha.
