I found another kale recipe!

Okay, I have already made this twice. That's how yummy it is. I might end up being a kale convert after all. Go me.

While I was in Florida, I ate at Pinon Grill at the Town Center, and had the most delicious trout and for a side, I must have had a crazy moment, because I ordered a kale salad.  I was completely stuffed, but managed to finish every bite. Their salad was a little spicier than the recipe I am going to tell you about, and the kale was chiffon-aded. I don't know the past tense of that word, but it is when you roll the green and then cut it to slice it very thin. This is often done with basil. Do you know what I mean? I didn't do this for my recipe, and it was fine.

I found it on a website that has the best name ever. Theshiksa.com. Anyway, this is the link for garlicky kale parmesan and panko salad.

http://theshiksa.com/2013/12/10/garlicky-kale-parmesan-panko-salad/

This is not the most inspiring photo, but the pictures on the website will certainly make you drool! The only two things that I changed, was I used pecorino romano, because that is what I had and I think it so much better than regular parmesan, and I didn't toast the panko.

My only complaint is this:

I felt like I used an awful lot of dishes. Do you like my zebra print purple dish gloves? To prevent  this, I plan to make the salad dressing when I have time and just store it in my fridge. We will see if that works. It was so good, I could imagine putting it on lots of different salads. So there you have it!

So tell me what is your favorite kale recipe?

By the way, did anyone see The Tonite Show with Jimmy Fallon and his misheard lyrics? Oh did that make me laugh! If you need a good giggle, I'm sure it is on youtube.

hello again!

It has been so long! I have been vacationing in sunny Florida and didn't want to announce to the whole world that I would be away. So I am back with the polar vortex and another impending snowstorm and it feels like I never left. I had some posts ready to go and have no idea why they didn't publish. Whatever. See, I am still on vacation time1

I finally made it to the gym today. I did exercise a lot while I was a way, but I must say, I do much better in a group class with peer pressure and having someone push you along. I thought I was going to have to leave Group Blast today. First, my feet were killing me. I don't know what was going on with my arches but all those quick feet were really hurting me. I"m not sure what was going on. If only that took my mind off the fact that I was absolutely huffing and puffing. Overall, it was pretty awful. I can only imagine how tabata is going to be tomorrow. Whine whine whine. If only wine wine wine.

I wore my Lululemon groove pants (yeah, it was 5 when I left), energy bra and black CRB. Look at all those summer shoes in the background. If only!

I absolutely love the black camo print and I need Lululemon to put it on a top and not just a bottom because I think the print might be too busy for my legs, but I would be all over a top. Here me Lululemon?I haven't been in a store and I haven't bought anything in so long. I've got my fingers crossed. Anyway, I must go eat my coconut greek yogurt before I fall down. More later!

Lululemon upload 2/18

Not a lot to ooh and ahh over, in my humble opinion. I am not hitting enter on anything and I am not rushing out to the store by any means (plus, another 4-8 inches is coming my way today, so again, I'm not going anywhere). I truly don't need anything (although when did that mean anything?) and I am so unhappy with the way I look in what I do have, I can't justify buying anything, unless it is going to hide my middle.

So, this is what jumped out at me:

Scuba Hoodie II. This has 8 reviews and it has 5 stars. Wow. Is that a switch or what? I wish that the chakra hoodie was available. Do I wait for that to come back or break down and buy one of these? Does anyone know if, or even when, those are slated to come back?

Floral Platoon. Am I showing my age when I say this is too busy for me? I'm not even sure I could do a tank in that pattern. Great accent fabric for a waistband, which I'm sure it will be eventually. Or a Bangbuster.  Hats off to anyone who can wear this.

Heathered cadet blue swiftly tech racerback. I do love this color! If only....it didn't show my bulges.

That's it! Did I miss anything? What did you get?

I had a great spin class yesterday. It really is amazing how your body gets used to an exercise, though. So important to change things up. Yesterday, in order to change things up, my spin instructor went for 1 1/2 hours. I left after an hour, as did a quarter of the class. These are my reasons and only two count. Can you guess which one should not mean anything? I sound like a Cosmo quiz, don't I?

A) I had too many things to do, you know, with this impending snowstorm.

B) I gave it 110% for one hour and as it was, I sat on the sofa for two hours, unable to move, and watched Walking Dead and Downton Abbey.

C) I really don't think I can sit on that bike seat for that long. Ouch. Or maybe, not ouch because everything is numb?

The correct answer is.... ding ding ding.... A! That extra half hour was what percentage of my day? That is a pathetic excuse. Good thing I had B and C so I can rationalize it away.

Today's group training is canceled because of the snow, so I am going to do some stuff on my own in my house, which is so hard for me. I am so impressed with anyone who can just go into the basement or spare room or wherever and break a sweat. I have all the stuff. I'm not sure what my mental problem is. Any advice? Besides just do it. Which is what I will have to do in a little bit anyway.

I think I am going to throw up

I felt breakfast start to come back up during tabata. Isn't that often the sign of a good workout? Although I think in this case, it was just the up and down part. Another lesson to self: don't drink any water during this class no matter how thirsty you may be because it is going to just gurgle around in your stomach.  I think the tabata that made me so nauseous was pushups and then star jumps.  After 8 tabatas, I was pretty much dead and congratulating myself on getting through almost all of them. Only to find out we were doing 10 today. Okay, then.

My daughter is going abroad for 10 days (that is if her flight can get out tonight- already delayed until 3 am) and for her last meal, we had sushi/ buffet. Oh it was so delicious. We haven't had sushi since my son was home in December, and I just kept piling those little rolls into my mouth like there was no tomorrow. I swear, I never want to eat again...until I am hungry that is. Right now, I want to throw up. Aren't you glad I am telling you this? I feel so bloated and gross now. I love it!

Here I am in my lululemon wunder unders, soaking wet Bangbuster (and awful hair), and black ruffle at the hem CRB. I pulled out my 50 rep bra and I forgot how much I used to love it. It is much better for me than the energy bra for underarm fat, but it was super hard to get in and out of. Until the energy bra, that was my go to bra.

I am hoping to get to blast tomorrow, but since we are getting another snowstorm right now, it all depends on whether my plow guy comes before 815 so I can get out. Plan B is to run on the treadmill for 1.25 miles. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it absolute torture for me, and I don't want to overdo the knee again.

If I do ever feel like eating again, I think it will be one of those protein pancakes. Can you tell I am really enjoying them?

Can I blame the fact that I got tired after 8 tabatas on my clothes? Have you heard about the Under Armour skin suits the speed skaters have been wearing and the fact that some say they might have contributed drag and to the teams inability to medal. How about maybe that since the American's have set a standard for so long, that other countries trained to beat them? Or, I read that the US trained at high altitudes on soft ice. Am I being mean? Were the downhill skiers wearing those suits also?

On that note, I am signing off. I will be nicer tomorrow, I promise.

Damn you three way mirror

After doing nothing all day yesterday except watch snow fall and listen for plows, I had a lot of energy today to make up for it!

My morning started at 5:30 with a call that there was a two hour school delay. Luckily, I fell back to sleep or I wouldn't have a whole lot to write about today. It would be whine, whine, whine. Group Power was a lot of fun. Really! Except for the legs track. My knee doesn't love those side lunges, and I miss the crouch. Can you tell I got a little stir crazy yesterday? There is only so much Flip or Flop on HGTV that I can watch! After, I went upstairs to the treadmill and ran ONE mile. It was a very long mile, mind you. And a very slow mile. I think I put on a lot of this weight when I stopped running so I am toying with the idea of getting back into it. I just wanted to test out the waters.... or really test out my knee.... and see how I feel after. So far so good.

I came home, made a quick banana bread protein pancake (really loving this and I am finding it keeps me nice and full) and got in the car to head to Nordstrom. I ordered a pair of Nike Luna flyknit sneakers that just didn't work for me. (I can't wait to try my new Nikes on tomorrow at tabata. I've got my fingers crossed.) Anyway, Nordstrom is the best. No questions asked, just as easy return.

Next I headed to Lululemon and I didn't take any pics, but this is what was up.

The new scubas were not there and I was bummed. I'm not even talking about the ones with the misprint. I guess they have to sell out the old ones first.

I tried on the Mountain tank and I know now that vitasea does not work for me. Maybe it does and I shouldn't look in those three way mirrors to see back fat. It is so soft and lovely, and I really wanted this to work. But, in order for me to get enough fabric to cover my chest, it got really long and didn't quite lay right. Oh well. I'm sure it looks great on a lot of people. Skinny, tall people. The bane of my existence.

Every yogi tee. Again, same issues as above. Love the fabric, don't love the way it looks on me.

Forthright 1/2 zip. Absolutely love. This is a hit out of the park for me. I tried on the grey which was okay, and I thought the bali breeze was a little busy. I am going to order the black online when I am done this post. I know the elastic hem is a turnoff for a lot of people, but I thought it gave it a little different look.  I hope it comes in more colors! Camo- oh my that would be amazing.

I thought the heathered grey in the gather and grow crop was great to feel, but I know the way and where I sweat, so this was an easy pass for me.

That was it. I'm having my afternoon cup of coffee and I am going to check out some of the Olympics. Have you been watching? Some of it is very boring- except for all those guys from norway in their tights doing speed skating. How come all of the favorites are failing so badly? Those freestyle slope skiers are insane. Have a happy Valentine's Day! My daughter surprised me with flowers. Such a sweetie.

Oh Lululemon- not again!

Where is the quality control? How do these things keep happening? I can't think of another company that has this many issues with product over and over again. I think it is a good thing that Lululemon has so many crazy (myself included) customers or this company would be in worse shape than it already is. I am beginning to understand why my Lululemon stock is in the toilet.

So, the mystery of the missing chakra hoodies (I was dying for that grey one and was even going to my store tomorrow- snow or no snow)! Here is what they are saying on Facebook.

We've removed the Scuba Hoodie II*Chakra from our website and stores because we noticed that we forgot to set our spellcheck to the “Sanskrit setting” for the graphic in the liner. For those who have already purchased this hoodie, rest assured our Chakra grammar doesn't affect the function of this garment.
~Jamieson

Oh good lord. Really?

Anyway, another snow day here. Although it seems like a zillion at this point, it is only the 3rd. I'm not sure if I can get to tabata (or even if I want to). If I get to tabata can I get home? Can I shovel my drive or will I be too tired? My only issue with snow days is that I sleep maybe about 5 minutes, since I am busy checking for cancellations. I remember the days where they would list all the schools on the radio or on TV and if you missed yours, you were waiting and waiting forever. Now I can check my phone. So easy! But still, too tired for tabata?  Because this winter is never ending, I should change the name of this blog to Too snowy for tabata?

I am really enjoying that banana bread protein pancake. It is quite filling and very tasty. In fact, I am going to eat one in about 5 minutes. Yesterday I cooked up another batch of quinoa cakes, and I have one each afternoon and it keeps me somewhat full. The afternoon is definitely my witching hour, when hunger kicks in, so having some ready made snacks is essential for me.

I did buy a new pair of sneakers which I am very eager to try out. Full report later!

My spin uniform

You have all seen it before. Today I have on a Lululemon Power Y tank in black and wunder under crops in black and a random color Bangbuster. All of this is easy on and easy off, especially when I am dripping sweat and clothes are stuck to me. Although, since it is -1 right now, maybe the spin room won't get too hot. Good thing the lights are down very low in this room because I feel pretty naked walking around like this.

I love my Tuesdays with a small group and a trainer. I get pushed in ways that I can't push myself. As a result, I have very sore legs today. I had extra weight put on the leg press and I think that did the trick. I should never answer the question, "So how is the weight?" with a "fine." So, I am going to do my best at spin today knowing my legs are already fatigued. But, "with intent," I am going to try to kill it because I think tomorrow we will all be snowed in again. AGAIN! Are those two statements contradictory? Yes. I must get my head in the right mental place. I think breakfast is going to be... the banana bread pancake that I found on Peanutbutterfingers.com the other day and posted here. Not oatmeal. I hope you aren't falling out of your chair reading this!

Now, on another note...Lululemon you are killiing me! I read on another blog that the Chakra hoodies were repriced in the stores ( I did say that twenty extra bucks for extra stitching is a bit much). I just went online and where are they? Pulled? How many items per upload end up getting pulled? I find it hard to believe that these all got sold out!? Get it together! I was hoping to get to the store tomorrow but will have to wait until Friday and the roads are cleared. I'll give you all a store report then.

Why I haven't bought a Lululemon bag in years

And it isn't what you think!

I have one that I think I bought almost 8 years ago (I'm guessing, but it feels like forever) and I love it. I love the straps and the handles. I love all the pockets. I love the pattern. I love the fun sayings. I love all the little details, like a Lululemon emblem thingie on some of the circles and on the silver buckles. I love the water bottle holder pocket (although giant Camelbacks don't fit). I love the size...although I could go bigger. I just love it. So without further ado, here is my bag.

But, I am sad to stay, that it is starting to wear. The stitching on the handles is coming apart and the inside is kindof dirty. But it is my perfect bag. And let me tell you, this bag gets tossed around and my water bottles full of Crystal light always leak out and my shoes get thrown inside. This has held up extremely well. I like the look of the Om for all bag, but need a pattern or something to make it stand out a little.

So, I wonder, what is in your bag? You can see a little of what is in mine. Wipes for when I need to not be gross but can't get to a shower. Wraps for group kick. Gloves for lifting weights. Two sets up headphones because one always seems to be missing (daughter!), a zillion Bangbusters, a zillion lip glosses, tissues and scraps of paper or magazine cut-outs with exercises I want to do/remember. I think that is it. And there you have it!

I may be a little crazy-

I am wearing my NLT and I looked at the cut of the fabric across the bra and it might just be the same as the new Tuck me in Tank. I think I always go for monochromatic colors, so I never see the contrast. I guess it really is the same tank, just without the elastic waistband at the bottom. What do I know?

Today I have on my no limits tank and groove pants (still just 5 out and snow on the way). This afternoon I have a haircut appointment and cannot wait! There is something magical about having someone else wash my hair! Yes, I have a "real" style!

Today is my million errands day. Must have breakfast, go to the dump, CVS, the gym, my hair, pickup a prescription at a different pharmacy, and collapse. I bet this sounds an awful like your day!

Lululemon upload 2/11 YAY

Lots of temptation this morning! And I was being so good....Here is what really caught my eye.

Mountain tank. Could be awful but could be just what I need, since it isn't form fitting around the waist. It is vitasea and interesting enough that it might work. Definitely needs trying on.

Om for all bag. It is bigger than the Sweat once a day bag, and if it comes in a fabulous pattern, I am all over it. Otherwise, I will continue to stick with my old, old Lululemon bag. I must take a picture of it so you know what I am talking about! The standard is very high.

Forthright 1/2 zip. Really cute and looks great. Not sure I love this color/pattern, but I might break down and get the black.

Chakra scuba. Is it worth an extra $20? It just might be. I never say that! The other colors/prints were a little busy for me, but this is just understated enough that I could do it. Really love it and so glad this is the scuba II.

Scuba II. Finally. I hope Lululemon is finally understanding that sometimes it is okay to tweak a style and sometimes the tweak doesn't work. It is a costly mistake to make. I love this anecdote color! My only complaint about scubas, and this is not a problem for most people, is that they are so heavy and thick, I can't always wear them under a coat, and for about 5 months of the year, here, that is what I have to do. Really loving this.

I do NOT love the wee are from space vintage pink. Maybe it looks better in person, but to me it looks almost dirty, and I know that isn't right. By all rights, the Tuck me in Tank should be perfect for me- not tight around the middle (sense a theme here?)- but something about the way it cuts across the bra in the front is bothering me. Maybe too much bra in the front?  I'm not sure, but I am good with my NLT. Anyway, lots of goodies today. Maybe my stock will start to go up?

What's a girl to do?!

Another day of not getting to the gym... what a week!  But that is what happens sometimes and in order to make sure that this is not a setback, I am just eating very clean. I can't beat myself up over it because as much as my health is a priority, occasionally life gets in the way. Right? Right! I often find that if I don't exercise, I am not hungry, so eating well isn't that difficult.

And this is extra funny to me because I just vacuumed downstairs and mopped the floors. Monday's chores. Sigh. Tuesday's aren't much better.

Some of the things I am eating today are:

Breakfast: oatmeal, hemp seeds and lots of blueberries. Oh and coffee of course.

Snack: a pear (before it is complete mush. I swear, I just bought it) and some banana bread protein pancakes that I found on peanutbutterfingers.com. This is the link for the recipe~ http://www.pbfingers.com/2011/09/16/banana-bread-protein-pancakes/comment-page-5/#comment-1243712. I made three small ones and already ate one before I remembered to take a photo!

Lunch: undecided yet. I am having a tuna melt craving, and that is just weird. And coffee.

Snack: quinoa cake, an apple and greek yogurt. This is the time of the day that I become RAVENOUS. So I usually end up eating a lot now so I can make it to dinner. But, since I am not exercising today, I'll have to see if I really am that hungry.

Dinner: southwestern egg rolls. I know I have mentioned many times how awesome these are.  Of course, deep fried like Chilis are a little bit better, but this makes my mouth water. The trick will be not to nibble on these all day, since I just finished cooking them.

After I visited my son in New Orleans in October, I ran out and bought this Jo Malone diffuser. For about a month, my house smelled like roses and every time we walked into the kitchen, I think we gave a little sigh. I remember thinking that it was well worth the small fortune. Fast forward four months later,  and while there is still some oil in the diffuser, I must say that it stopped smelling probably two months ago. I am so disappointed! I have tried reversing the sticks, and that helped for a few days, but lately, nothing. I don't want to throw it out, but I think it is pretty decorative at this point. Any suggestions for how to get my scent back? And it was hands down the best scent ever.

This is resting on an antique bread board and an old, old, old Ouija board, from 1917, I think.

Did you watch Walking Dead last night? WOW. I just want to kick Carl. Most ungrateful child ever. He was always going off and to bring up Shane? Not sharing the pudding! That is just too awful to consider. And to see Michonne vulnerable? I guess those two zombies that were with her in the beginning were the two men in her dream/home. Great episode! Missing Darryl, though. So glad that this is back on TV.

Have a great day!

Lululemon Tame Me Tank

I have such mixed feelings about this tank. Sometimes I think it is very maternity looking and sometimes I think it lays just right. Regardless, it is fine for right now as I still whittle that middle. Which seems to be an endless process. Endless struggle. Endless insert curse word right now. I am also wearing my energy bra that I know is cut too small. I think it might have to go because it is  crushing me. I'm so, so mad about this. I am not assuming anything anymore when it comes to Lululemon sizing, which is ridiculous. It has been a while since I have bought something new at Lululemon and I am hoping for a good upload this week. I don't really need anything, which is part of the problem. I also am being extremely selective in colors and patterns since I feel as big as a house right now. I know, I know, you have heard this rant before. Okay, I am better now!

It felt great to exercise after 4 days of rest. I think my knee even felt a little better, but I probably just set myself back since I went to blast this morning. Overall, I am enjoying it, except for that fast feet business in the last track. Too much stuff jiggles when I do that and my feet start to hurt. I also don't love the core part, with the bench on an incline. I am okay with it, except for the bicycle, that bothers my back. Otherwise, lots of fun. OH listen to me, whine, whine, whine.

There is so much good tv on tonight! Walking Dead returns! There is also Downton Abbey and a Beatles special. I am also watching True Detective. I guess Olympics, too? That is what a DVR is for!

Time for a coconut greek yogurt and banana. This is pretty much my after workout snack. What is your go to snack? I like the fact that it isn't even 10 am and I am done with exercise. Although I think I have to go through some tax things this morning and that is going to be an exercise!

"with intent" I skipped tabata

What is it they say?

"The best laid schemes of mice and men / Often go awry"

After three days of not working out (at a gym, I mean), I was excited to go to tabata today. But, I woke up with a pounding headache and immediately knew that tabata would be a very bad idea. Sometimes, exercise is the best remedy for me and sometimes I know exercising will turn my headache into a migraine. So I did the next best thing! I had two tylenol, a cup of joe, and went back to sleep for a little while. While my headache is not entirely gone, it is certainly better. I need to take it easy today. If you have never had a migraine, then you are very fortunate. I know most people think, oh headache, no big deal, but let me tell you, a migraine can be devastating, and I will do anything necessary to avoid getting one. I know there are a lot of women out there nodding their heads amen. Also, what is so unfair is that a lot of women get migraines around their period. As if getting your period wasn't enough torture. Yeesh.

I think I know what brought this all on. I spent hours last night doing the FAFSA form. If you are not familiar with this, it is the application to get financial aid. Last year I was able to use my tax return and it was pretty easy, relatively speaking. This year, with changes to my employment, I had to do a lot of figuring out on my own to come up with reasonable estimates. This is not something I am good out. I think I was a vision with tax forms all spread out before me and a calculator and last years return in a million pieces. Figuring out tax terminology makes me crazy. After almost two hours, I hit send. I've got my fingers crossed.

I have more makeup to talk about! I am certainly on a makeup binge. Maybe it is the winter blues or maybe I just look so awful every day that I need to get better/new makeup. Regardless, I was back at Nordstrom and ended up getting a quick makeover. I just cannot pick colors for me, I end up with the same old, same old, so there is nothing I like more than to sit down and let someone who knows what they are doing do it for me! I ended up buying armani eyes to kill intense silk eye shadow in 6 and 9. These are the photos, but the colors seem quite different from what is in the actual pots.

While they were quite expensive, I think I will be buried with these pots because they will last forever. They go on with a finger and are not quite cream and not quite powder. You can then mix it with a brush once it is on. So far, it has stayed on me very well, and that is always an issue for me.

I hesitate to even think about what my exercise plans are for tomorrow. I don't want to jinx myself, so stay tuned....

Lululemon to work

By the way, I am still wearing Lululemon, even though I am going to work and not workout! I have on the open your heart long sleeve, which although it has a large open neck, is incredibly warm. It reverses to black and white stripes.  I wore my pink one yesterday. I also have on Citizens of Humanity Dylan jeans. For an extra layer, I have my bliss break hoodie. I know the open your heart long sleeve is still available in some sizes online. Bye!

No step mill today! Yay!

I am subbing again today, so no gym for me. I am a little bummed, because now it means three days in a row without working out, and I just don't do that. But, that is the way it is...life gets in the way. There is always tomorrow.

So although I won't be lifting heavy weights or sweating it out on the step mill (I can't honestly say that I am sad about missing that) I wasn't kidding when I said I would get my workout at work. The snow piles here are enormous and just walking for an hour in the snow wiped me out. Plus, I think I am not used to standing up for hours upon hours. Isn't it funny how your body gets used to standing up all day? Sure, I can do a killer spin class, but stand up for three hours at a time, no thanks. I must have been more wiped out than I thought yesterday, because I dreamt that my legs were in a hot tub. If only! Maybe my paycheck this week will offset the cost of all this snowplowing. Wishful thinking on my part.

I have a question for you! Do you use a fancy shampoo or a regular drugstore brand? I used to use Kerastase and Bumble and Bumble, but I use Pantene and Garnier Fructis and whatever is cheap and on sale. I don't really see a difference with my hair, although my hair is very thick and wavy and most of the time it is in a ponytail. Do you see a difference? I do use good products, though, and that I don't skimp on. But I was just wondering, as I was half asleep in the shower this morning! I can't believe how expensive some shampoos are lately! I know Giselle uses Pantene.

Have a great morning!

bellylosers.com!

I have to laugh! When I look back at all of my 2013 posts (I was much thinner then. Yikes), the scam text about bellylosers.com is by far the most popular. I guess that means that EVERYONE is getting this silly text! That makes me feel slightly better.

After getting a foot of snow yesterday and watching too much HGTV and Modern Family, I was all set to go to tabata and get off my lazy butt. Unfortunately, I have to go sub at work, so I will get my exercise that way. Luckily, I made some overnight oats and will bring that in for lunch. That means Group Power on Friday and then the step mill. There, I said it and I have to do it.

I got a few samples of YSL Liberator youth serum and eye zone and I really like it. I just finished using them and I was going to provide a review, but I looked at the price and I think I fell off my chair for a moment. The night creme is $170 and the eye serum is $120. End of discussion. Too bad, because they were both lovely, but I can't justify those prices at all. I am still loving my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation. Really loving! I bought the Armani waterproof eyeliner in brown and it stays on my bottom lid all day. The upper lid, not so much, but I have to do a little more experimenting with it.

Off to have my yummy breakfast: oatmeal, blackberries and hemp hearts. I guess it will be a big oatmeal day. Have a great day!

Asics on Ruelala.com

Need new running shoes? If you haven't joined yet, what are you waiting for?  I also see that Mephisto is going to be on sale next week, which are my "bedroom slippers." In fact, I have them on now, even though they are sandals. Here is a link:

http://www.ruelala.com/invite/jfriedman338

I see a camouflage version of the Gel Noosa, which you all know I love!

What a day we are having and it is only 11:45! It is another snow day here and luckily we got the notification last night, so I slept until 8! It is just picture perfect out the window, as I sit with a coffee in my Bedhead pajamas. I think we already have 8-10 inches on the ground and that white stuff is still falling from the sky. Cha-ching. This is going to be an expensive storm! To make matters worse, my daughter is watching Dance Moms, and I can't even be in the same room. That woman, Abbie Lee, is a witch, and the moms are just crazy. Lots of mama drama. I know a lot of it is because it is for television, but I feel for those kids, who look like deer in the headlights. I am making baked brie for lunch for my daughter, and I bought camembert instead of brie. Oops. Is it going to work? I am having leftover broccoli and chicken stir fry that is so good, I am eating it cold. I started watching True Detective on HBO. I'm a little confused, but I think that is because I am playing candycrush. Oh this level! Must go get the brie/camembert out of the oven and not let on that I messed up. Sorry for the rambling, this winter is making me daffy.

Lululemon Upload 2/4 Insert Happy Face

Oh! Lots of goodies! Finally!

I am so tempted by some of these gorgeous colors! Especially the very light flare and heathered bali breeze! But I don't think I can do it. A bra in some of these colors is just the little pop I need. But the Power Y in cadet blue looks dark enough that I can get away with it. This might just be coming home with me.

What else?  The In a Flash Singlet looks interesting. The cut is so different from everything else I think I would definitely need to try it on. It looks like it could be flattering to someone who doesn't want tight, tight, tight all the time (which would be me, me, me).

Why are all my pictures of the model's back? Not enough coffee maybe. The heathered cadet blue swiftly is stunning. I know I have sworn these off for a while, but a tank or v neck in this color would make me think twice.

And here is a totally blurry picture of the iconic sweater wrap. I don't even know how that could happen. Definitely not enough coffee. I can see the educators in the stores wearing this and looking fabulous, but it isn't for me.

Here is the Wee striped heathered black wunder under crop. I don't know if this is the pattern I bought in the fall, which I ended up returning because it fit so small. I will have to go back and look at my posts from that time. I remember being very unhappy because after I returned it, of course there were no more in stock.

The all sport camp camo  (I'm not going to bother typing that whole paragraph color description) is fun. I have yet to try on this bra. I like the new page dedicated to how each bra fits- coverage-wise and support-wise.

Did I miss anything? I have a meeting near a different Lululemon store, and if I have time, I'm going to pop in and see what they have in stock. I'll keep you updated!

Super Bowl? Super snooze!

Maybe it is because my Patriots and Tom Brady were not in this Superbowl, but I thought it was a little boring. The commercials were okay and Bruno Mars was okay, but the Red Hot  Chili Peppers got ONE song? What? The half time show certainly did not blow me away. Neither did the game, except to see how badly the Broncos got burned. I am so glad the Seahawks won!

I haven't posted pictures since...January? How did it get to be my February photo stream already? Anyway, here is my Lululemon Power Y in black and groove crops. This Power Y is one of my favorites for spin, since it is easy to get off when I am a sweaty mess. Like today. The idea behind today's cycle class was "to hold it a little longer." Hello? I am just about at my "little longer." But it is true, I used to be able to do 30 seconds and lately it has been 45. Yup, those extra 15 seconds of push are killer, but "that is when the change happens." I am just full of quotes today.

Ha ha. No sucking in the belly for these selfies. How I wish! But that wouldn't be honest.

I had a massage on Saturday and of course my shoulders are up to my ears and all the stress is held in my neck and shoulders. The woman giving the massage immediately knew that I was lifting weights over my head (shoulder press). She could feel the tension. I know massages are one of those luxuries, but with the amount of exercising I do, I find that it really helps me. Plus, it is just awesome pampering. I am by no means training like an Olympian, but wow, did I feel a whole lot better after. I had a Groupon and it was pretty inexpensive. Rather than another pair of shoes (oh, who am I kidding?) this was a great way to spend some money and an afternoon. Except, I was practically in a coma that afternoon.

I made it to Lululemon yesterday to try on the Every Yogi Tee. I didn't love it on me. Yes, the material is supersoft, but somewhat thing, and for me, that just accented bulges. Plus, the arms were tight. Realistically, I don't think I would ever exercise in a short sleeve shirt, so I am not sure what I was thinking. I am hoping for a great upload tonight!

The forecast for the week is not making me happy. It is snowing now, although that shouldn't accumulate to much for me. But Wednesday is supposed to be a big storm and maybe the weekend. Doesn't mother nature know I need to go to yoga on Wednesday?

Time to vacuum the downstairs. I think I will just do a quick google search to see how many calories that burns. 30 minutes equals about 90 calories. Why isn't my house cleaner? Must go clean!

I found a kale recipe!

Oh my! It is delicious. It is from the Pioneerwoman.com and it is a kale and butternut squash quesadilla.  This is the link:

http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2013/01/butternut-squash-kale-quesadillas/

There is also a great demonstration on how to cut up butternut squash and if you have a super strong knife, it is very easy to do! No more buying the cut up ones at the store for a small fortune. (Must buy shoes instead!) I used baby kale, which I think made it a step easier, since I didn't have to trim up any of the kale. I also had a bag of Sargento shredded cheese mixture that had monterey jack cheese in it, so I didn't use freshly grated cheese. My bad. The last thing that I did differently was I didn't lightly brown the tortillas. I think this would have made this dish outstanding, but instead, I just layered it all on a tortilla and stuck it in the microwave to melt.

So there you have it! Kale haters, this one is for you!

She has some wonderful recipes if you have time to browse. One of our Thanksgiving desserts is from her and has been part of our dinner tradition for quite a few years now. In fact, my kids beg for it throughout the year. Apple dumplings. Ooh, my mouth waters just thinking about it.

Off to spin. I hope my legs work. More later!
